Population ageing and low birthrate are the common challenges shared by China, Japan and the ROK, which exert a great impact on the socio-economic sustainability in each country. The population ageing, on the other hand, has spurred new opportunities for business. With a growing elderly population, a dynamic emerging market targeting older adults has expanded as markets evolve to meet their diverse needs along with a stream of new products and services. COVID-19, furthermore, accelerated the innovation of elderly care services and brought about the evolution of the healthcare industry. In addition, with the growing trends of business innovation for tackling societal issues worldwide, the role and potential of business sectors in addressing challenges posed by population ageing have been brought to the forefront of public attention. Trilateral Entrepreneurs Forum 2021 will bring together experts and entrepreneurs from China, Japan and the ROK to discuss the role and potential of business in response to ageing society in the post-COVID-19 era, as well as to showcase innovative business models in China, Japan and the ROK.
